Application to pharmaceutical preparations and environmental analysis of the adsorptive stripping voltammetry

This article is a review about adsorptive stripping voltammetric method, which is used for the analysis of the traces and ultra-traces of metals (very dilute solutions of, up to $10^{-11}$ M) and pharmaceutical interest compounds. In this method hanging mercury drop electrode and solid electrodes are used. In this study the mechanism of the adsorptive stripping voltammetry and stripping steps are given. Also the influence of the parameters such as pH, deposite time and deposite potential on the peak current are shown. Adsorptive stripping voltammetry enables direct and/or simultaneously determination of organic compounds and metal complex in the concentration range from $1.10^{-6} -1.l0^{-11}$ M. The literature about the pharmaceutical and environmental analysis by adsorptive stripping voltammetry have also been given.
