Game Piece Ingestion in a Geriatric Subject

Altta yatan hastalıklar dolayısıyla geriatrik popülasyonda yabancı cisim yutumu sık rastlanılan bir durumdur. Demans ve birçok komorbit faktörler (alkol tüketimi, sedatif ve hipnotik ilaç kullanımı, konvülsyon, intoksikasyon, mental retardasyon, dental prostetik girişimler ve primer nörolojik hastalıklar gibi) yabancı cisim yutumuna neden olurlar. Yaşlı popülasyonda bu durum sık olmasına rağmen oyun taşı yutumu nadir görülmektedir

Foreign body ingestion in adults is often seen in the elderly population because of some underlying diseases. Dementie and many comorbidities (such as alcohol consumption, use of sedative and hypnotic drugs, convulsion, intoxication, mental retardation, dental prosthetic interventions, and primary neurological diseases) are factors that lead to foreign body ingestion. Although foreign body ingestion is common, game piece swallowing is rare.
