Bu çalışmanın amacı sınıf öğretmenlerinin değerler eğitimine ilişkin görüşlerini tespit etmektir. Nitel araştırma kökenli olgubilim çalışması olarak yürütülen bu araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2015-2016 yılında Ankara’da Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü’ne bağlı bir devlet okulunda görev yapan 11 sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Sınıf öğretmenlerinin değerler eğitimi ile ilgili görüşlerinin belirlenmesi yarı yapılandırılmış mülakatlar yoluyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre okullarda değerler eğitimi konusunda bir çok çalışmanın yapıldığı bu çalışmalarda ailelerin de sürece dahil edildiği tespit edilmiştir. Öğretmenler ‘tüm bu çalışmaların iyi niyetli çalışmalar olmaktan öteye gidemediğini’ açıklamışlardır. Değerler eğitiminin okullarda daha sitemli bir şekilde verilmesi, bir ders olarak programlara dahil edilmesinin daha etkili bir değerler eğitimi için gerekli olacağı önerilmektedir.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the opinions of elementary school teachers about values of education. The study group consists of eleven elementary school teachers working in Ankara city National Education Directorate. Data has been collected from the interviews with these elementary school teachers. This study was carried out through phenomonographic method based on the qualitative research. To determine the teachers’ opinions regarding to the values education, eight semi structured questions were asked to the teachers. Answers were recorded and the results were analysed. In this research, it is seen that there are many studies which involve both the schools and families. However, all these studies could not go far from bona fide studies. It can be advised that the values education should be included into the curricula as a school subject in elementary schools
