The Impact of Tourism in the Protection of Rural Architecture: Çanakkale - Adatepe Village

Adatepe village is known that rich in sociocultural and architectural aspects, wherethe Greeks and the Turks lived together for many years, was in danger of losing its valuesbefore being declared a Urban Protected Area in 1992. Thanks to the acceleratedrestoration efforts, the village has become one of the most important tourist attractions inthe region. The subject of the research consists of three main stages and the result parts.The social and cultural texture of Adatepe and the changes are presented and suggestionsabout the sustainability of tourism activities and cultural circles in Adatepe are presented.
