İLKESİZ ETİĞİN ÖZNESİ

Bu yazıda Rorty’nin nasıl bir özne kurgusuna sahip olduğu açıklanmaya çalışılarak, özneye yaklaşımının ne türden bir ahlâk anlayışına eşlik ettiği ele alınıp tartışılmaktadır. Rorty, anlam evrenini Arşimetçi bir sıfır noktasından kuran, dışındaki her şeyi tartışma konusu yapabilirken kendisi sorgulanamayan, deneyime girmeyen ama onun koşulu olan aşkın özne tasarımına yabancı, ‘kendi evinde bile hükümran olamayan’ bir özne düşünmektedir. Bu özne, kendini yaratan, biçimlendiren ama bunu evrensel bir akıla ya da ölçüte göre yapmayan, hiyerarşik bir yapısı olmayan, şiirsel, oyuncu, çoklu bir öznedir. Nietzsche’nin geçmişini, ‘onu böyle istedim’e (thus I willed it) dönüştüren, Freud’un bilinçdışını bir diyalog ortağı haline getiren yaklaşımlarını pragmatist bir tavırla, kendini biçimlendiren (selfshaping) bir özne anlayışında kullanmaktadır Rorty

This article attemps to explain Rorty’s concept of the subject and investigates the nature of morality that must accompany such a construction of the concept. In contrast to the subject who acquires his sense of the world from an Archimedian point and who conditions experience although cannot himself be experienced, Rorty imagines a subject who is ‘not sovereign even at his home’. Such a subject who creates and shapes itself, not in accordance with a universal reason or criterion, is poetical, playful, and plural and does not display a hierarchical structure. In conceiving this pragmatically self-shaping subject, Rorty makes use of the Nietzschean transformation of the past into a ‘thus I willed it’ and the Freudian theory of the unconscious as a conversational partner
