Stoma açılması sıklıkla uygulanan cerrahi bir yönt emdir. Stoma komplikasyonlarının görülme sıklığına ilişkin yapılan araştırmalar incelendiğinde, peristomal cilt komplikasyonlarının görülme sıklığının %12 ile %76 arasında değiştiği gö- rülmektedir. Peristomal cilt komplikasyonlarının değerlendirilmesi ve iyileştirilmesi stoma bakım hemşirelerinin görevidir ve zamanlarının çoğunu peristomal cilt problerinin önlenmesi ve iyileştirilmesi için harcarlar. Peristomal cilt aracı, güvenilir ve geçerli bir araçtır. Peristomal cilt aracı, peristomal cilt komplikasyonlarının ciddiyeti ve nedenlerine yönelik, bakım veren hemşireler arasında ortak dil sağlar. Araç iki bölümden oluşur. Birinci bölüm komplikasyonun boyut ve şiddetine puan vererek komplikasyon puanının belirlenmesini sağlar. İkinci bölüm komplikasyonun nedeni ve komplikasyona yönelik girişim önerilerini içerir. Türkçe geçerlilik ve güvenilirliği yapılan peristomal cilt aracının, bütün bakım alanlarında (hastane, ev gibi), stoma ve yara bakım hemşirelerine aynı zamanda evde bakım hemşirelerine, peristomal cildin değerlendirilmesi ve komplikasyonların iyileştirilmesinde büyük katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Peristomal cilt aracı, stoma ve yara bakım hemşiresi, peristomal cilt komplikasyonu

Ostomy creation is a frequently performed surgical procedure. Peristomal skin disorders are common problem. In respect of studies related to incidence of peristomal skin complication 12 to 76% of ostomy patients experience some type. Ostomy care nurses have a crucial role in the assessment and management of peristomal skin disorders, and spend a significant proportion of their time preventing and managing them The Ostomy Skin Tool is valid and reliable tool. The Ostomy Skin Tool provides a common language to describe the severity, extent and likely cause of a peristomal skin disorder. The Ostomy Skin Tool is comprised of two sections. Part one is used to calculate a score that describes the peristomal skin condition and incorporates both the area aff ected and severity of the problem. Part two is a diagnostic guide that allows categorisation of the peristomal skin disorder according to its cause and off ers guidance on care. Turkish version of Ostomy Skin Tool could provide a richer contribition to the assessment and intervention of peristomal skin condition in all settings (such as; hospital, home) to the ostomy and wound care nurses and home care nurses.Keywords: Ostomy skin tool, ostomy and wound care nurse, peristomal skin complication
