It has been studying on the subjects of artificial neural network (ANN), audio and pattern recognition, property determination, decision and control as in different fields to obtain a behaviour as the human being behaves. Recently, with the development of technology, ANN models has gotton importance again. In the fields of new ANN models, algorithms and simulation of these models by computer, continously, there have been some developments recorded. Pattern recognition with the ANN which is a new approach including letter and digit recognition, among different implementations, it has given more reliable results than the conventional pattern recognition models. This study is on alphabetical pattern recognition. In the pattern, there might be some distortion caused by different reasons. Thus, recognition performance of these distorted patterns will be measured by the ANN trained for the recognition of alphabetical patterns by using back-propagation algorithm.
