The Effects of The Organizational Structure on Organizational Justice

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the organizational structure on organizational justice. In the study, a research model defining "the relationship between organization structure and organizational justice" was developed. In the model, organization structure was constructed of formalization and centralization dimensions, and centralization was determined by participation to decisions and hierarchy of authority. Organizational justice was defined by distributive justice and procedural justice. Procedural justice was also constructed of formal procedures and interactional justice. Data required to test the model was collected from employees of 500 large companies in Turkey. Survey method and questionnaire were used to carry out the study. Within the context of this study, original factor structures related to organization structure and organizational justice scales from foreign literature were analyzed to see whether they suited the Turkish culture or not, using a confirmatory factor analysis. And factor structures were verified. It was also determined that the scales used in the study had good reliability values. Data collected was analyzed using multiple regression analysis. In the regression analysis, stepwise method was used. Results from regression analysis pointed out that organization structure dimensions strongly affects organizational justice perception of employees.
