ÖZETBu makalede son 10-15 sene zarfında dişhekimliği radlojisinde en mühim ve yeni bir teşhis vasıtası olarak kabul edilebilecek panoramik radiografi tekniklerinin temel prensipleri izah edilmiş ve bu prensipleri dayanarak çalışan cihazlar ele alınarak her birinin dayandığı temel prensip, işleyiş mekanizması avantaj ve dezavantajları söz konusu edilmiştir. SUMMARYIn this paper fundamental principles of the panoramic radiography, as a new and important diagnostic tool in dental roentgenology, has been discussed.After a brief review of historical evolution these new equipments are described in details. The machines which take place in a first group utilize an intra-oral source of radiation. In a second group three different equiments all utilizing the tomographic principle are explained. The advantages and disadvantages of both technics are also cited.
