GİNGİVİTİS HASTALARINDA SERUM VİSFATİN SEVİYESİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Amaç: Visfatin adipokin türevi molekül olup; salınımı romatoid artrit, sepsis, akut akciğer hasarı, inflamatuar kemik hastalığı, psöriasis, tip2 diabet ve obezite gibi akut ve kronik inflamatuar hastalıklarda artar. Bu çalışma periodontal olarak sağlıklı bireyler ile gingivitisli hastalar arasında serum visfatin açısından herhangi bir fark olup olmadığını değerlendirmeyi amaçlamıştır. Gereç ve yöntem: Katılımcılar periodontal durumlarına göre 2 gruba ayrıldı. Kontrol grubu, sistemik ve periodontal olarak sağlıklı bireylerden, test grubu, sistemik olarak sağlıklı gingivitis teşhisi konulmuş hastalardan oluşturuldu. Dahil edilme kriterlerine uyan bireylerin klinik parametreleri (plak indeksi, gingival indeks, kanama indeksi, sondalama cep derinliği) kaydedildi. Daha sonra serum örnekleri alınarak -80° C’de saklandı. Örnekler elisa testi ile değerlendirildi. Veriler SPSS 15 programı yardımıyla analiz edildi. Bulgular: Tüm klinik parametreler gingivitis hastalarında, periodontal olarak sağlıklı bireylere göre daha yüksek seviyede bulundu. Serum visfatin yönünden değerlendirildiğinde ise, test grubu kontrol grubuna göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olarak daha yüksek seviyelerde bulundu. Sonuç: Bu çalışmanın sonuçları analiz edildiğinde, visfatin’in periodontal inflamasyonun sistemik etkisini değerlendirmeye yönelik dikkate değer bir biyomarkır olduğunu söylemek mümkündür.

Evaluation of Serum Visfatin Level in Patients with Gingivitis

AİM: Visfatin is an adipokine derivative molecule; The release of visfatin increases in acute and chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, sepsis, acute lung injury, inflammatory bone disease, psoriasis, type 2 diabetes and obesity.This study aimed to determine whether there was any difference in serum visfatin between periodontally healthy individuals and patients with gingivitis. Material and Methods: The participants were divided into 2 groups according to their periodontal status. The control group consisted of systemic and periodontal healthy individuals, test group, systemically healthy gingivitis patients. Clinical parameters (plaque index, gingival index, bleeding on probing, probing pocket depth) of the individuals who met the inclusion criteria were recorded. Serum samples obtained were stored at -80 ° C. The samples were evaluated with elisa. Data were analyzed with SPSS 15 program. Results: All clinical parameters were higher in gingivitis patients than in healthy individuals. When the serum visfatin was evaluated, the test group was found to be significantly higher than the control group. Conclusion: When the findings of this research are analyzed, it shows that visfatin is a remarkable biomarker for evaluating the systemic effect of periodontal inflammation.
