Bu makale Ziya Gökalp’in kültür ve medeniyet teorisini bilgi sosyolojisi perspektifinde incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Buna göre Gökalp’in tipolojik yaklaşımı tarihsel ve toplumsal arka planı içinde değerlendirilmiştir. Bu çerçevede kültür ve medeniyet teorisi sosyolojik temelleri aranmaksızın, Türk ulusal kimliğinin inşası için pratik toplumsal temellere dayalı olarak üretilmiştir

The present article aims to analyse Ziya Gökalp’s theory of culture and civilisation from the point of sociology of knowledge. For this, typological approach of Ziya Gökalp will be evaluated on the sociological and historical basis. In this context, his theory of culture and civilisation was developed in order to construct Turkish national identity, without regarding to sociological reasons, but with regard to the socio-pratic basis
