SAMPLE MATRIX PROBLEM AND ITS SOLUTION IN PESTICIDE RESIDUE ANALYSIS

In pesticide residue analysis, co-extracted compounds may effect the quantitation of analytical results at both side by inducing matrix-effect. With the update references and European Union (EU) Guides, this review article deals with the mechanism of matrix effect, effecting factors on matrix effect, the statistical significance of it, and alternative aproaches for the solution of matrix problem. While the find out the solution of matrix-induced effect, the assessment should be together with the some other criteria, such as, linearity of calibration, limit of quantiataion (LOQ), recovery, and repeatabilities. This phenomena must be evaluated routinely during the validation of method, based on each pesticide and matrix.
