Both the academicians and the manufacturing industries focus on Cellular Manufacturing (CM) with a growing interest. In this paper, the field analysis has been performed to determine the situation Turkey has been in such an important subject and to compare it with the other implementations, especially in USA. 44 manufacturing firms, which are the leaders in their sectors in Turkey with international qualifications and totally 207 manufacturing cells in these firms, have been examined by the field analysis. The study has been realized by an investigation questionnaire that has been prepared beforehand based on negotiations and observations on the shop floor. The study contains the collection and the statistical interpretation of the information related to the period before the CM project, CM design process and CM implementation results. Furthermore, overall satisfaction after CM implementations is statistically analyzed.
