Caroli hastalığı ve kolanjiokarsinoma

Caroli hastalığı intrahepatik safra yollarının fokal veya diffüz kistik dilatasyonu ile karakterize konjenital hastalığıdır. Artmış safra taşları, tekrarlayan kolanjit atakları, kolanjiokarsinoma riski vardır. Nadiren uzak metastaz yapar. Tedavi hastalığın lokalizasyon ve genişliğine bağlıdır. Caroli hastalığı zemininde gelişen kolanjioselüler karsinom tanısını koymak mevcut görüntüleme tetkikleri ve fırça sitolojisi tekniğiyle zordur. Burada ilk hastalık bulgusu Caroli hastalığı zemininde gelişmiş kolanjioselüler karsinom olan 70 yaşında bir kadın hasta sunulmaktadır.

Caroli disease and cholangiocarcinoma

Caroli's disease is a congenital disorder characterized by focal and/or diffuse cystic dilatation of intrahepatic bile ducts. These patients have increased incidence of bile duct stones, recurrent cholangitis attacks and cholangiocarcinoma risk. Caroli's disease rarely metastasizes to distant sites. Treatment depends on the localization and extent of the disease. Cholangiocellular carcinoma developing from an underlying Caroli's disease is difficult to diagnose with various imaging techniques and brush cytology specimens. Herein, we present a 70-year-old female whose first disease presentation was cholangiocellular carcinoma that developed due to the underlying Caroli's disease.
