Bu çalışmanın amacı; Türkiye ekonomisinin özellikle 2000’li yıllardan itibaren sergilediği yüksek iktisadi büyüme performansı ile işsizlik oranlarındaki artışa bağlı olarak gündeme gelen “istihdamsız büyüme” sürecinin analiz edilmesidir. Bu amaçla; 2000-2014 dönemi için uygulanan ekonometrik model sayesinde Türkiye ekonomisinde yaşanan istihdamsız büyüme süreci ampirik olarak incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucuna göre iktisadi büyümeden işsizliğe doğru bir nedensellik ilişkisi tespit edilememiş; işsizlikten iktisadi büyümeye doğru bir nedenselliğin mevcut olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu aşamadan sonra; sektörlerdeki büyüme verileri ile işsizlik oranları modelde kullanılmış ve yalnızca hizmet sektörü ile iktisadi büyüme arasında nedensellik ilişkisinin bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The study aims to analyze the process of “jobless growth” in Turkey which has become prevalent especially during 2000s despite superior economic growth performance. The process of “jobless growth” in Turkey between 2000 and 2014 has been exhibited ampirically by applying an econometric model. The consequences of the study states that while there is no causality from unemployment to economic growth, there exists a causality in a reverse way. Following this stage, growth data for sectors and unemplyment ratios have been used in the model and it has been found out that there is only a causality relation between service industry and economic growth.
