From Proletariat to Precariat: A New Global Class (!)

While the oil crisis brought the end of the Keynesian welfare state and for distproduction system, the capitalist order was restructured by neoliberalism and post-fordism. In this process, the functions of the state have reduced and the sphere of free market has reached its highest level. Knowledge and technology-based production has become essential with the post-fordist production system, the evolution of labor processes gained momentum. In this new accumulation regime, the labor market was deregulated, the unions were weakened, a precarious and flexible employment system was adopted. This new labor process is interpreted as the proletarian class will be replaced by a new global class of precariat. In this study, discussions will be held on labor process and the role of the precariat in the neoliberal order.
