8 Üniversitelerde bezdiriyi dillendirmek

Bezdiri (Mobbing) sıklıkla şiddete karşı mağdurun ve izleyicilerin ses çıkaramadığı kapalıotoriter eğilimli ortamlarda ortaya çıkar. Son yıllarda Türkiyedeki üniversitelerde bezdiri,sevdiği kapalı sessizlik ortamını bulmuş ve iş güvencesinden yoksun alt kademelerin güvenilirbir hukuki sürecin olmadığı bir ortamda dilsizleşmesiyle ciddi boyutlara ulaşmıştır. Buçalışmanın amacı, Türkiyede üniversitelerde bezdiriyi, bezdirinin üniversite sistemi üzerindekietkilerini ve bezdiri ile mücadele yöntemlerini incelemektir. Bir şiddet türü olarak tanımlananbezdirinin Türkiyede üniversitelerde ne tür biçimlerde ortaya çıktığı ve üniversite sistemiüzerindeki etkileri, bezdiri ile mücadele yöntemleri ve kurumsal mücadeleye bir örnekolarak Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Akademik İnisiyatif hareketi incelenecektir.

Breaking the silence on mobbing

Mobbing fourishes in those contexts that are characterized by strong hierarchy and passiveacceptance. Those conditions prevail in Turkish academia, especially for those junioracademics who lack suffcient job security and access to a reliable legal process. Therefore,the aim of this study is to analyse mobbing in Turkish academia, the effects of mobbing onthe university system as well as the different methods that have been used to combat mobbing.With that aim in mind, the analysis of mobbing as a type of violence in Turkish universitieswith special reference to the types of mobbing that occur, detrimental impact of mobbing on theuniversity system and the different methods that have been used to struggle against mobbingin universities are provided.In that respect, particular emphasis is placed on the AcademicInitiative Movement that recently emerged at Hacettepe University.
