HEMŞİRELİK VE BEDEN EĞİTİMİ ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN YAŞLILARA YÖNELİK TUTUMLARININ İNCELENMESİ

Amaç: Sağlık eğitimi alan ve almayan üniversite öğrencilerinin yaşlılara karşı tutumları arasında fark olabilir. Araştırma bir üniversitedeki hemşirelik ve beden eğitimi öğrencilerinin yaşlılara yönelik tutumlarını ve etkileyen etmenleri belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.Gereç ve Yöntem: Kesitsel ve tanımlayıcı türdeki araştırmanın evrenini 2013-2014 öğretim yılında bir üniversitenin Hemşirelik Fakültesi HF ile Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Yüksekokulu'nda BESYO okuyan tüm öğrenciler N=2522 oluşturmuştur. Çalışmada örneklem seçimi yapılmamıştır. Çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden toplam 1009 öğrenci çalışma kapsamına alınmıştır. Araştırmada veriler anket formu ve Yaşlılara Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde varyans analizi ve t testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın yapılabilmesi için etik kuruldan ve çalışmanın yapıldığı kurumlardan yazılı izin alınmıştır.Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan HF öğrencilerinin yaş ortalamaları 20.42+1.62 yıldır, %82.5'i kız öğrencidir, %49.2'si birinci sınıfta okumaktadır, %14.6'sı yaşlı ile aynı evde kalmıştır, %51.2'si ileride yaşlı ile aynı evde yaşamak istediğini belirtmiştir. BESYO öğrencilerinin yaş ortalamaları 21.94+2.53 yıldır, %67.4'ü erkek öğrencidir, %54.5'inin ileride yaşlı ile yaşamayı istemediğini belirtmiştir.HF öğrencilerinin yaşlılara yönelik tutum ölçeği puan ortalaması 150.03+21.88, BESYO öğrencilerinin yaşlılara yönelik tutum ölçeği puan ortalaması 150.10+23.60 olarak bulunmuştur. HF ile BESYO öğrencilerinin yaşlılara yönelik tutum ölçeğinin puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır. HF ile BESYO öğrencilerinin mezun olduğu lisenin, okuduğu sınıfın ve cinsiyetinin yaşlıya karşı tutumlarını etkilemediği bulunmuştur. Yaşlı ile aynı evde yaşamak isteyen HF ile BESYO öğrencilerinin yaşlıya karşı daha olumlu tutuma sahip oldukları saptanmıştır.Sonuç: Sağlık eğitimi alan ve almayan üniversite öğrencilerin yaşlılara ilişkin tutumları arasında fark bulunmamıştır

AN INVESTIGATION OFATTITUDES TOVVARDS THEELDERLYOFNURSING AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION STUDENTS

Objective: A differerıce can be between the attitudes against the elderly of university students who receive health education and who don't receıve health education. The research was conducted to determine the attitudes towards the elderly of nursing and physical education students at a universityMethods: The population ofthis descriptive and sectional study was consisted o f ali students N=2522 study ing in theNursing Faculty and Higher School of Physical Education of a university in 2013-2014 academic year. Sample was not selected in the study and students in ali population were taken, as a result 1009 students who agree to participate in the study were consisted the sample. Students Identification Form, and Scale o f Attitudes Tovvards the Elderly was used in the collection o f the data. The institution's ethics committee approval and forma permission from the institution was obtained for conducting the study. Data were analyzed by using and t tests and analysis of variance.Results: The average age of the surveyed students of Nursing Faculty was 20.42 ± 1.62 years, 82.5% ofthem were female, 49.2% ofthem were ongoing to the firstyear, 14.6% ofthem have been remained in the same house with the elderly, and 51.2% ofthem vverestated that they want to live in the same house with the elderly in the future. The average age of the surveyed students ofFIİgher School of Physical Education was 21.94 ±2.53 years, 67.4% ofthem were male, and 54.5% ofthem were stated that they don't want to Fıve in the same house with the elderly in the future. The mean subscale score of attitudes of Scale of Attitudes Tovvards the Elderly of students studying in the Nursing Faculty was found as 150.03±21.88, The mean subscale score ofpositive attitudes o f Scale of Attitudes Tovvards the Elderly of students studying in the Fligher School of Physical Education was found as 150.10+23.60. There was no significant difference betvveen the mean score attitudes of students studying in the Fligher School of Physical Education and those who studing in the Nursing Faculty. İt was found that the gender, high school vvhich they graduated, the class vvhich they ongoing is not effected the attitudes of the students students in the Nursing Faculty and Fligher School of Physical Education. İt vvas found that the students in both faculty who want to Fıve in the same house with elderly have has more positive attitudes tovvards the elderly.Conclusion: A difference vvas not found betvveen the attitudes against the elderly of university university students who receive health education and who don't receive health education
