Bu araştırmada, İzmir Metropolü'nde evli ve doğurgan yaşta olan 15- 49 kadınların gebeliği önleyici yöntem kullanma durumlarıyla, bunlara etkisi olduğu düşünülen sosyo-demografik özellikleri incelenmiştir. Kadının ve özellikle eğitim durumunun gebeliği önleyici yöntem kullanımında etkili olduğu görülmüştür. Ana çocuk sağlığını daha iyiye götürmek amacıyla kısa aralıklarla doğum yapmanın ve dolayısıyla aşırı doğurganlığın önlenmesi gerekmektedir. Bunun için yaşa özel doğurganlığın ve gebeliği önleyici yöntem kullanımının değiştirilmesinde bu konu ile ilgili e ğitimin yararlı olacağı düşünülmektedir.

This research has been done the married women at the age of 15-49 in the Izmir Metrapolitan area to define the birth control methods and some social and cultural factors related to them. The age and particularly the education level of women is effective in the motivation of birth control. It is necassary to prevent to over pregnancy and the close birth so that we could develop the health of mothers and children according to the result of this investigation. So it is thought that the change of birth is related to age and the clıange in birth control methods and the train - ing on this subject could be useful.
