Bu araştırma, bebeklerde bronşit-trakeit görülme durumuna ailelerln sigara içiminin etkisini incelemek amacı ile yapılmıştır. A:raştırma, İzmir ili içinde, 10-12 aylık bebek ve annelerlnin oluşturduğu bir örneklem üzerinde yapılmıştır. Ailelerln sigara içmelerlnin, bebeklerde bronşit, trakeit görülme durumunu etkilediği saptanmıştır. Bebeklerde bronşit, trakeit görülme durumunu etkileyebilecek faktörler birlikte değerlendirildiğinde etkililik sırası ile evde sigara içen ebeveyn sayısı, bebeğin beslenme şekli ve konut tipidir.

This study has been conducted to examine the effect of parental smoking on the incidence of bronchitis and trachcıus on babies. The example of the study includes 600 babies who were 10 to 12 months old and their mothers who !ive in the city of lzmir. it was seen that the incidence of bronchitis and tracheitis in babies was closely related to parental smoking. When the factors which could effect the incidence of bronchitis and tracheltis on babies were examined, parental smokıng, feeding rnethods and the type of housıng were found as the most effective ones.
