Çalışmanın amacı öğrencilerin temel vektör kavramları hakkındaki alternatif fikirlerini belirlemektir. Araştırma, Sınıf öğretmenliği programında öğretim gören 72 öğrenciyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılan 8 açık uçlu sorudan oluşan anket vektör büyüklüğü, yönü, vektörel toplama, vektörel çıkarma ile ilgili temel düzeyde bilgilere ilişkindir. Çalışmanın sonuçları, öğrencilerin önemli bir oranın temel vektör kavramlarında ciddi kavramsal kargaşa yaşadıklarını göstermektedir.

The goal of this study is to describe students' alternative conceptions about basic vector concepts. The study was conducted on 72 students from the Programme of Primary School Teacher Education. The questionnaire that is used as data collection instrument consists of 8 open-ended questions concerning basic knowledge of vector magnitude, direction, addition, subtraction. The results of the study show that a significant proportion of students had serious conceptual confusion related to basic vector concepts.
