Meslek Yüksekokullarının amacı gerçek anlamda sanayinin ihtiyacı olan ara kademe teknik elemanlarını yetiştirmektir. Bu okullar öğrencilere, teorik bilginin yanında mesleki bilgi ve beceri de kazandırmaktadır. Ayrıca öğrenciler, iş hayatında karşılaşacağı çeşitli durumlar (işçi sağlığı, iş güvenliği, meslek hastalıkları v.b) konusunda da bilinçlendirilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, öğrencilerin işçi sağlığı ve güvenliği (İSG) konusunda meslek yüksekokulundan beklentileri ve aldıkları eğitim ile sahip oldukları İSG bilinçlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, Düzce Üniversitesi Gümüşova Meslek Yüksekokulu bünyesinde bulunan İşçi Sağlığı ve İş Güvenliği, Metalurji, Kaynak Teknolojisi, Makine Resim ve Konstrüksiyonu ve Üretimde Kalite Kontrol programlarının her birinden 40’ar öğrenci olmak üzere toplam 200 öğrenciye 20 sorudan oluşan bir anket çalışması uygulanmış ve elde edilen sonuçlara göre değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre ara kademe teknik eleman yetiştiren Meslek Yüksekokullarında müfredat düzeyinde gerekli düzenleme ve güncellemelerin yapılması iş hayatına atılacak öğrenciler için faydalı olacağı sonucuna varılmıştır.

The main aim of vocational schools is to train technicians who would be able to fill the gaps properly in the industry. These schools provide not only theoretical knowledge but also practical experience to their students. On the other hand, the students are educated to be more conscious of about some cases (occupational health, occupational safety, occupational diseases) that they can possibly encounter in industrial or business environment. In this research, it is aimed to determine and reveal the expectations of students from vocational schools and their awareness about education and occupational health and safety. In this sense, a survey consisting of 20 questions was conducted with 200 students by choosing 40 students from the departments of Labor Health and Occupational Health, Metallurgy, Welding Technology, Mechanical Drawing-Construction of Machine and Quality Control in Production at Gümüşova Vocational School of Düzce University. The evaluation has been fulfilled through the results of survey. According to the results of survey, it is concluded thatwhat kind of arrangements and revisions would be beneficial for students who will be employed in the industry in near future.
