Heavy Metal Analysis of Drinking Water Samples Taken from Different Locations

Ever-increasing water demand has been emerged together with growing industrialization and continuing urbanization in the world. Heavy metals, too, are among the chemicals pass human body through drinking water. They have adverse effects on human body when exposed to elevated levels. In the context of this study, drinking water samples were taken from 15 different locations and heavy metals concentrations were determined. According to the analysis results the concentrations of heavy metals examined were in the range of acceptable limits declared by international authorities. It is believed that this study will make an extra contribution for the improvement of the quality levels of drinking water in Turkey.
