An uncommon, benign, cutaneous tumor: pilomatrixoma: a case report
Pilomatrixoma, is an uncommon, benign, cutaneous tumor originating from the hair matrix. It is also known as "Calcifying Epithelioma of Malherbe". Usually this lesions are circumscribed, mobile and painless, presenting as a mass in the head and neck region. However, it may occur from any part of the skin which includes hair follicules. A precise preoperative diagnosis is usually not possible. Likewise, the emphasis of this report is to present one of these cases; a lesion in the left arm skin of a 12-year-old male whose preoperative diagnose was a lipoma.
