Sürdürülebilir rekabet üstünlüğünün (SRÜ) kaynaklarını anlamak, stratejik yönetimin belki de en önemli konusudur. 1980’li yırlardan sonra gelişmeye başlayan kaynaklara dayalı işletme modeli (KDİM), bu konuda önemli görüşler ileri sürmektedir ve bugün SRÜ’yü açıklamada en etkili model haline gelmiştir. Modelin stratejik yönetime en önemli katkısı, SRÜ elde etmede işletmenin önemini yeniden gündeme getirmesi olmuştur. Bu model SRÜ’nün kaynaklarını dış çevreden çok işletme kaynaklarında görür. Model teorik ve ampirik olarak gelişmesine rağmen, onun rekabet stratejisi geliştirme açısından yöneticiler için sonuçları literatürde yeterince incelenmemiştir. Bu eksikliğin giderilmesine katkıda bulunmak amacıyla, bu çalışmada, KDİM’nin temel görüşleri kısaca açıklandıktan sonra, onun uygulamadaki yöneticiler için sonuçları incelenmiştir

Understanding sources of sustainable competitive advantage (SCA) is perhaps the most important topic in strategic management. A resource-based view of the firm (RBV), which has began to develop after 1980s, presents substantial insights in this topic and has become a dominant model in explaining sources of SCA. A major contribution of this model to strategic management has been to emphaisize again the importance of the firm in gaining SCA. This model views the firm resources rather than external environment as sources of SCA. While the model is developing both teheoretically and amprically, its implications for practicing managers in terms of formulating competitive strategy were not sufficiently examined in the literature. To contribute to remedy this neglect, after summarizin main points of RBV, its implications for managers were examined
