UTILIZATION OF TINAZTEPE REGION ROCKS IN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

The most expensive component of concrete is cement. Due to this fact, different materials are used to reduce the amount of cement besides improving the properties of concrete. The possibilities of using Tınaztepe rocks in replacing cement by various amounts and utilization of this material in mortar production as fine aggregate was the main objective of this study. According to test results of this study, Tınaztepe rocks can be utilized by grinding in cement production up to 10% and they can be incorporated to mortar mixtures up to 100% as aggregate with respect to workability and compressive strength
