Investigation of The Effect of The Amount of Talk and EPDM on Mechanical Properties of PP/Talc/EPDM Composites

In this study, the effect of talc and EPDM content on mechanical properties such as tensile and impact of PP/Talc/EPDM composite samples were examined. For this purpose, 15% talc and 5-20% EPDM was added to PP polymer. The mixture has taken placed in a twin screw extruder, and tensile and impact specimens were performed using the injection molding technique. As a result of, the tensile strength and modulus of elasticity increased while impact strength increased with talc added to PP polymer. Furthermore, tensile strength and modulus of elasticity decreased while impact strength increased with increase amount of the EPDM in the PP/Talk/EPDM polymer composite. Fracture surface analyzes were performed by SEM analysis.
