PROBLEM BASED MODULAR CURRICULUM DESIGN FOR ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING EDUCATION

the concentration of students on the subjects and as a result more effective learning is achieved. One of the well known methods to achieve this purpose is Problem-Based Learning (PBL). Considering the worldwide acceptance of problem-based learning style applied in an increasing number of universities, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Dokuz Eylül University has decided to replace its current education system with problem- based learning starting with the freshman class in Fall 2002. In this paper, problem-based learning methods are discussed and a proposal on problem-based electrical and electronics engineering curriculum is presented
