Bu çalışmada ERP sistemi ve ERP sisteminin Türkiye'deki üretim işletmelerindeki yeri incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Yakın geçmişte ortaya çıkan ileri bilgi teknolojilerinden biri de ERP sistemidir. ERP, bir organizasyonun her fonksiyonel alanını kapsayarak bu alanların en fazla rekabet avantajı elde etmesine imkan veren, tümüyle entegre edilmiş bilgisayar destekli bir iş yönetim sistemidir. ERP sistemi dünyanın birçok ülkesinde ve şirketinde yaygın olarak uygulanmaktadır. Fakat bu sistemin Türkiye'deki üretim işletmelerinde yeri bilinmemektedir. Türkiye'deki üretim işletmelerindeki ERP sisteminin yerinin öğrenilmesi amacıyla, ISO'nun 1999 yılı verilerine göre ilk 500 büyük firma arasına giren işletmeleri kapsayan bir anket çalışması yapılmıştır.

Within this study, ERP system and position of the ERP system in Turkey's manufacturing firms are discussed. One of the advanced information technologies that emerged in the past decade is ERP system. ERP is a total integrated, computerised business management system that covers every functional area of the organization enabling it to derive the most competitive advantage. ERP system is implemented widespread in many countries and companies. But, there isn't any information about position of the ERP system in Turkey's manufacturing firms. To learn the position of the ERP system in Turkey's manufacturing firms, a questionnaire was made. The questionnaire has included the biggest 500 firms considering ISO's data in 1999.
