Kadının aile ve toplum içindeki yeri çok eskilerden beri tartışılan bir konudur. Çağdaş dünyada ise kadının toplumsal hayattaki konumu değişmiştir. Türkiye'de kadın konusundaki tartışmalarda geleneksel kadın imajı ile çağdaş kültürlerde oluşan kadın imajı karşılaştırılmaktadır. Bu tartışma ortamında Hz. Peygamberden gelen rivayetler bir takım fikirlerin lehinde ve aleyhinde kullanılmaktadır. Bu makalede kadınlar hakkında Hz. Peygamberden gelen bazı rivayetler ele alınmakta ve hadis metodolojisi açısından  bir değerlendirmeye tabi tutulmaktadır. Bu rivayetlerin İslam kültür ve geleneği içerisinde nasıl yorumlanabileceği araştırılmaktadır.

The place of women in the family and society has been a matter of debate since ancient times. In the contemporary world, women's social status has changed. In the discussions on women in Turkey, the image of traditional women is compared with the image of women formed in contemporary cultures. In this discussion, the narrations from the Prophet are used in favor of and against a number of ideas. In this article,  some narrations from the Prophet are discussed and they are evaluated in the context of the hadith methodology.The important question of this study is that how can interpret these narrations within the framework of Islamic culture and tradition.
