The effectiveness of occlusion treatment on anisometric amblyopia in different age groups

Bu çalısmada, anizometropik ambliyopili hastalara uygulanan kapama tedavisinin farklı yas gruplarına göre etkinligi arastırıldı. Okul öncesi (4-6 yas grubu) 15 hasta ve okul çagı (7-11 yas grubu) 19 hasta olmak üzere anizometropik ambliyopi tanısı almıs toplam 34 hastaya kapama tedavisi uygulandı. Günlük kapama süresi minimum 6 saat idi. Hastaların baslangıç, 1. ay, 3. ay ve 6. ay' da düzeltilmis en iyi görme keskinligi ölçülerek, ambliyop gruplar birbirleriyle ve kontrollerle karsılastırılarak degerlendirildi. Baslangıç görme düzeyleri bakımından, ambliyop okul öncesi ve 7-11 yas grubu arasında istatistiksel anlamlı fark bulunmazken (P>0.05), ambliyop gruplarla aynı yas kontroller arasında anlamlı fark vardı (P

The effectiveness of occlusion treatment on anisometric amblyopia in different age groups

The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of occlusion treatment on different age group patients with anisometropic amblyopia. Occlusion treatment was applied to 34 patients, 15 preschool children (age between 4-6 years), and 19 school age children (7-11 years). Daily duration of occlusion was minimum 6 hours. Best corrected visual acuity of patients was measured initially, at the end of 1st, 3rd and 6th months. Data belonging to amblyopia groups was compared with one another and with the controls.
