Probiyotikler ve Ağız Sağlığı

İnsan sağlığına olan yararlı etkilerinden dolayı, birçok gıdaya eklenen bakteriler, “probiyotik” olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Probiyotikler, günümüzde çeşitli hastalıklar ve patolojik durumlarda kullanılmaktadır. Birçok hastalıklarının gösterilmiştir. Probiyotik bakterilerin geniş çoğunluğu, Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Propionibacterium ve StreptecoccusProbiyotiklerin mikroorganizmalara karşı antimikrobiyal madde üreterek konağın bağışıklık sistemini etkilemelerine dayanmaktadır. Son zamanlarda, ağız ve diş sağlığında probiyotiklerin kullanımı ile ilgili birçok çalışma yapılmıştır. Probiyotiklerin diş çürüğü, periodontal hastalıklar ve halitozis gibi ağız enfeksiyonlarının önlenmesinde gösterilmiştir. Ancak, probiyotiklerin oral patolojideki potansiyel yararlı etkileri konusunda daha çok çalışma yapılmasına ihtiyaç vardır. Bu derlemenin amacı, probiyotikler ve ağız sağlığındaki etkileriyle ilgili çalışmaların özetlenmesidir
