Bu araştırma, Adana il sınırları içinde bulunan Yatılı Bölge İlköğretim Okullarındaki öğretmen ve öğrencilerin okul yaşam kalitesi algılarını belirlemeye yönelik tarama modelinde betimsel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmaya Adana il merkezine en yakın, orta ve merkeze en uzak mesafede nitelendirilebilecek üç Yatılı Bölge İlköğretim Okulunda görev alan 36 öğretmen ve bu okullarda okuyan 643 öğrenci katılmıştır. Öğretmen ve öğrencilerin bulundukları okulun yaşam kalitesine yönelik algılarını belirlemek amacıyla Okul Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği kullanılmış, veriler 2008–2009 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar döneminde toplanmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma, t-testi ve Mann Whitney U-testleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda YİBO’ ların okul yaşam kalitesi ile ilgili olarak öğretmen ve öğrenci algılarının büyük oranda benzer olduğu ve her iki grubun okullarını yaşam kalitesini orta düzeyin biraz üzerinde olumlu algıladığı görülmüştür. Öğretmen ve öğrencilerin YİBO’ ların okul yaşam kalitesi ile ilgili en olumlu algıları kendi statülerine en olumsuz algıları ise okul yönetimine yönelik olmuş, kız öğrenciler ve bayan öğretmenlerin algılarının daha olumlu olduğu belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenlerin öğrencileri öğrencilerin kendilerinden, öğrencilerin ise okul yönetimini öğretmenlerinden daha olumlu algıladığının belirlendiği araştırmada öğretmenlerin okulun yaşam kalitesini genel olarak daha yüksek algıladığı görülmüştür.

This research is a descriptive study for defining perceptions of teachers and students at elementary boarding district school YİBO in borders of Adana Province with respect to the school life quality The schools which were defined for research are elementary boarding district schools at the longest distance of Adana Centrum and at the shortest distance of the middle and center 36 teachers and 643 students from three YIBO participated in that stage of our research Data were collected with “Quality of School Life Scale” To analyse the data were used mean standart deviation t test and U test At the end of the research it was found that the perceptions of teachers are substantially similar to those of students relating to the YIBO school life quality and that both two groups positively perceived their schools’ life quality is a little higher than the middle level The most positive perceptions of the teachers and students with respect to school life quality of YIBOs were for their own statuses and their most negative perceptions were for school administrations and the girl students and female teachers were more positive In the research in that the teachers had more positive perception than those the students Keywords: Quality of School Life Elementary Boarding District Schools Teacher Student
