Gelişmiş ülkelerde sanayi toplumunun dönüşümünü açıklayan çalışmaların gündemde tuttuğu yer ve popülaritesi 1970’li yıllardan beri giderek artmaktadır. Günümüzün enformasyon toplumuna geçiş sürecinde enformasyon, bilgi ve nitelikli insan sermayesi önemi kazanmaktadır. Çalışmanın birinci amacı; yaygın şekilde Enformasyon Toplumu olarak anılan yeni toplumun arka planında ortaya çıkan endüstri toplumunun doğuşu ve gelişmesini açıklamak, ikinci amacı ise; endüstri toplumunun yerini almakta olan enformasyon toplumu ile ortaya çıkan kavramları ve bu yeni toplumun genel karakteristiklerini ele alarak, Türkiye hakkında genel bir değerlendirme yapmaktır.

In developed countries, the importance and popularity of the studies that describing the transformation of industrial society has been increasing since the 1970s. Today, in the process of transition into information society, the information, knowledge and skilled human capital is gaining importance. The primary purpose of the study, to explain the emergence and development of industrial society on the background of the new society that is widely referred to as information society. The second aim is to make an assessment about the information society and Turkey.
