Öz Bu çalışma stratejik bir maden olarak bor minerallerin Türkiye için önemini içermektedir. Dünyadaki en önemli bor rezervleri Türkiye'dedir. Diğer önemli rezervler ise ABD ve Rusya'dadır. Dünya bor rezervleri B2O3 bazında 369 milyon ton görünür, 807 milyon ton muhtemel ve mümkün olmak üzere toplam 1.176 milyon tondur. Bu rezervlerde Türkiye'nin payı % 72,3, ABD'de % 6,8 ve Rusya'da ise % 8,5'tir. Türkiye'deki bor rezervlerinin ömrü 567 yıl iken, dünyanın ikinci büyük rezerv ülkesi Rusya'da bor rezervleri 67 yıllık bir ömre sahiptir. Türkiye'deki başlıca ekonomik bor mineralleri Tinkal, Kolemanit ve Üleksittir. Türkiye sahip olduğu bor rezervleri ve cevherlerinin kalitesi ile dünyanın en önde gelen ülkesidir. Bor mineralleri bazı alanlarda ham bor olarak kullanılmakta ise de genel olarak rafine bor bileşiklerine ve özel bor ürünlerine dönüştürüldükten sonra geniş alanda kullanılmaktadır. Bor mineralleri günümüzde cam sanayinden, deterjan sanayine, metalurji, tarım, ve nükleer uygulamalara kadar yaygın ve gün geçtikçe artan uygulamalara sahiptir. Bu stratejik özelliklerinden dolayı bor madeni Türkiye için büyük bir öneme sahiptir. Dünya bor rezervinin %72, 3'üne sahip olan ülkemiz, söz konusu mineralin dünyadaki en büyük ihracatçısıdır. Bor minerallerin çıkarılması, üretimi ve pazarlanması yasayla Eti Maden İşletmeleri Genel Müdürlüğüne bırakılmıştır. Eti Maden İşletmeleri Kolemanit, Üleksit ve Tinkal gibi konsantre bor ürünlerinin yanında, rafine ürün üretimini de gerçekleştirilmekte ve dünya pazarlarına sunmaktadır. Eti Maden İşletmeleri ülke ekonomisine daha fazla katkıda bulunmak için son yıllarda bor alanında yatırım atağı başlatmış olup, sektörde rekabet gücünü artırmayı hedeflemektedir. Bugün stratejik bir değeri olan bor madeni geleceğin Türkiye'sinde de  ekonomik anlamda   çok önemli bir rol oynayacaktır. Bu çalışma kapsamında bu kadar öneme sahip olan bor madeni ile ilgili değerlendirmeler yapılmış, ülke ekonomisi ve geleceği açısından önemi vurgulanmıştır. The most important boron reserves in the world are in Türkiye. The other main reserves are in the USA and Russia. Total world boron reserves on the basis of B2O3 content are 369 million tones proven (807 million tones probable and possible, with a total of 1. 176 million tons) Türkiye's share of these reserves is %72,3 while the percentages are 6,8 and 8,5 for the USA and Russia respectively. The life span of Türkiye's boron reserves is 567 years, whereas in Russia as second richest country with the reserves, ıt is 67 years. Türkiye's main economical boron minerals are Tincal, Colemanite and Uleksit. Türkiye is the leading country of the world regarding the boron reserves that it has and their quality of substance. Although the boron minerals are used as raw materials in many applications, they are mostly used in various areas after being converted to rafined boron compounds and to special boron deriatives. Boron minerals have an intensive and increasing usage from glass to detergent industry and in metallurgical, agricultural and nuclear applications. Due to these features, boron mine is of great importance for Türkiye. Our country is the biggest exporter in the world by possesing % 72 of all boron reserves. The mining, production and marketing rights of boron minerals Türkiye is given by law to Eti Mine Works General Management. Eti Mine Works produces colemanite, ulexite and tincal concentrates as well as rafinery products and supplies those to the world market. The institution has applied a series of investments in boron sector to improve further ıts contribution to the country's economy and aims at improving ıts competitiveness in the sector. At the present day, boron is an important and strategic mineral that is possessed by Türkiye which will also have a significant role in the country's future in this study, boron mine is evaluated as it has such importance, and its significance for the national economy as well as the country's future is emphasised.
