Puberte Gecikmesinin Bir Nedeni: Boş Sella Sendromu

On dört yaşında kız hasta meme gelişiminin olmaması ve adet görmeme nedeniyle başvurdu. Bazal hormonal değer- lendirme sonuçları hipogonadotropik hipogonadizm ile uyumluydu. Over ve uterus volümleri prepubertal boyutlar- da ve karyotipi 46 XX olarak saptandı. Hipogonadotropik hipogonadizm etiyolojisi nedeniyle yapılan hipofiz görün- tülemesinde boş sella saptandı. Bu vaka sunumu ile puber- te gecikmesiyle başvuran kız hastalarda hipogonadotropik hipogonadizm ayırıcı tanısında özellikle boş sella sendro- mu olmak üzere organik patolojilerin göz önüne alınması gerekliliğini ve bu vakalarda görüntüleme çalışmalarının önemini vurgulamak istedik

A Cause of Delayed Puberty: Empty Sella Syndrome

A 14-year-old girl was admitted due to lack of breast deve- lopment and amenorrhea. The results of basal hormone studies were consistent with hypogonadotropic hypogona- dism. The uterine and ovarian sizes were of prepubertal dimensions, and the karyotype was found as 46 XX. Pituitary imaging for the etiology of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism revealed empty sella syndrome. Here, we wanted to emphasize the necessity of considering organic pituitary pathologies, particularly empty sella syndrome, in the differential diagnosis of hypogonadotropic hypogo- nadism and the importance of imaging studies in such cases
