Bisfenol-A içerikli dental materyallere güncel yaklaşım

Günümüzde Bisfenol-A’nın olası toksik etkileri tartışılmaktadır. Bu makalede Bisfenol-A hakkında genel bilgi verilmiş ve diş hekimliğinde sıkça kullanılan rezin bazlı dental materyallerdeki etkisi ilgili literatürler ışığında değerlendirilmiştir.

Dental materials containing bisphenol-A: current approach

Bisphenol-A, which was first synthesized in 1891 and its estrogenic properties were discovered in 1930, is an industrial chemical. It is found in many products such as feeding bottles, food containers, plastic water bottles and their caps, eye glasses, CD’s, DVD’s, electronic devices ,dental sealants and composite filling materials. Recently possible toxic effects of Bisphenol-A have been subject to various scientific discussions. In this article, general knowledge on Bisphenol-A was given and the effects as a result of its use in dental materials were examined in the light of literature.
