Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı, üniversitelerde öğrenim gören Taekwondo milli takım sporcularının sosyo-ekonomik durumları ile bu branşa katılım nedenleri ve beklentileri arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymaktır. Yöntem: Araştırmanın evrenini, üniversitelerde öğrenim gören milli taekwondo sporcuları oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem grubunu ise, üniversitelerde öğrenim gören 80 (18 Kadın, 62 Erkek) milli taekwondo sporcusu oluşturmaktadır. Sporcuların sosyo-ekonomik durumlarını ve branşa katılım nedenlerini ölçen anket formu, önce benzer araştırma örneklerinden yararlanılarak taslak form haline getirilmiş, daha sonra da uzman beden eğitimi öğretmenleri, antrenörler ve sporcuların görüşleri alınarak anket formuna son şekli verilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde, SPSS programında yer alan; yüzde, frekans, aritmetik ortalama ve standart sapma kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Güvenirlilik ve geçerlik analizlerinin KMO değeri 0,674; Bartlett testi 690,398 ve Cronbach Alpha güvenlik katsayısı da 0,815 olarak belirlenmiştir. Sonuç: Araştırma sonucunda; sporcuların % 58.75’i (47 sporcu) ekonomik durumlarının orta seviyede olduğu, taekwondo branşını tercih etme sebebi olarak (x=3.89) beden eğitimi öğretmeninden etkilendikleri ve ayrıca taekwondo branşından en büyük beklentilerinin (x=4.61)00 milli takım sporcusu olarak ülkelerini temsil etmek olduğu ve taekwondo sporunun topluma yaygınlaştırılmasında en çok taekwondo federasyonunun etkili olduğunu (x=3.74) düşündükleri sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

Aim: This survey is held to set out the socio-economic situation of nationaltaekwondo players who is stil undergraduate and their expectations and the reason whythey join in this field. Method: The study population, the national taekwondo athletes arestudying in universities. The sample group, the universities are studying in 80 (18 female,62 male) national taekwondo athlete. Athletes' reasons for participation in the socio-economic status and subject questionnaire measures, using examples of similar research hasbeen converted into a draft form, and then the specialist physical education teachers,coaches and athletes in the form of a questionnaire based on opinions given its final form.Data which is derived from the survey were analysed in the SPSS program; by using percentage, frequency, arithmetic average, standart deviation. Survey’s KMO amount is 0,674,Barlett test is 690,398 and the reliability coefficient of Cronbach Alpha is 0,815. Results:At the end of the survey it is understood that 58.75 % (47sportsmen) of sportsmen’s economic situation is at middle level , as to reason why they choose taekwondo is being impressed by their physical education teacher (x=3.89) and the biggest expectation ofsportsmen from taekwondo (x=4.61) is to represent their country as a national taekwondoplayer and community in promoting the sport of taekwondo, the most effective (x=3.74)thought the results were reached taekwondo federation
