Bu çalışmanın amacı, ortaokula devam eden ortopedik, görme ve işitme engelli öğrencilerin beden eğitimi ve spor dersine yönelik tutumlarını değerlendirmek üzere bir ölçek geliştirmektir. Çalışmaya, 53 ortopedik, 80 görme, 38 işitme engelli (toplam 171) öğrenci gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. “Engelliler Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Dersi Tutum Ölçeği (EBESTO)” 5’li Likert tipi 27 maddeden oluşmaktadır. Yapılan faktör analizi varimax dönüştürmesi sonucunda ölçek 3 alt boyuta ayrılmış ve toplam varyansın %51.82’sini açıklamıştır. Alt boyutlar altında toplanan maddelerin sözel yapılarına bakıldığında, ilk alt boyut İlgi ve Yarar, ikinci alt boyut Yetersizlik ve üçüncü alt boyut Yapısal Gereklilik olarak adlandırılmıştır. Birinci alt boyut için iç tutarlılık Cronbach Alpha değeri, 0.92, ikinci alt boyut için 0.74 ve üçüncü alt boyut için 0.76 olarak bulunmuştur.

The aim of this study was to develop a scale to assess attitudes toward physical education for secondary school students with physically, visually and hearing disabilities. 53 physically, 80 visually, 38 hearing disabled students (totally 171) voluntarily participated in this study. “Physical Education Attitudes Scale for Students with Disabilities” (PEASD) consist of 27 items. Participants were asked to rate each item on a 5-point Likert scale. Principle Component Factor Analysis with Varimax Rotation for testing factor structure of PEASD supported three factor structure and items explained 51.82% of the variance. When verbal structure of each statement in the three factor structure is taken into consideration, first factor is called Interest & Usefulness, the second factor is called Incompetence and the third factor is called as Perceived Organizational Structure. The internal consistency (Cronbach Alpha) was 0.92 for first factor, 0.74 for the second factor and 0.76 for the third factor
