Ahmet Kutsi Tecer, Türk edebiyat tarihi içerisinde şairliğinin yanında, tiyatro yazarlığı ile de ön plana çıkmış bir sanatçımızdır. Tiyatro türünde eserler vermiş olan Kutsi Tecer, Batı tekniği ile folklor ve halk malzemesini başarıyla birleştirmiştir. Ahmet Kutsi Tecer’in bu eserleri incelendiğinde, tiyatro edebiyatına önemli malzeme sağladığı görülür. Halk kültürüne ait unsurları bu oyunlarında ustalıkla kullanan Ahmet Kutsi, Türkiye’nin geçirmiş olduğu kültürel değişimi de eserlerine başarıyla yansıtmıştır. Bu çalışma; şiirleri ve folklor araştırmaları yanında, Ahmet Kutsi Tecer’in tiyatrocu kişiliğini ve tiyatro eserlerini daha yakından incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Yazarın günümüze ulaşan yedi tiyatro eseri, tematik açıdan incelenmek suretiyle, tiyatro edebiyatımıza ait ihmal edilmiş bir kültürel zenginliğe dair bir farkındalık oluşturulacağı düşünülmektedir.
