Decision Support Systems: A Proposal for Model Based Literature Review

It is a known fact that the “decision support systems” (DSS) are valuable tools which provide valuable contributions to the managerial decision making processes during the completion of semi structured or unstructured tasks. In both individual and also group decision making situations, decision support systems provide important supports in matters such as the production, storage and modeling of knowledge. The main goal of the research is to explicate how to develop a more advanced managerial decision making by describing the individual decison making and perception process. The method of “document survey” is used for the collection of data. Among the main points the research has focused are that whoever decides should be the one who produces, organizes and combines the information. First of all, some aspects of human decision making process has been overviewed, and a framework organized to direct research on decision making to certain cognitive activities has been tried to be presented. In the Discussion section, the advantages of decision support systems in organizations are discussed
