KARPAL TÜNEL SENDROMLU HASTALARDA AKUPUNKTUR UYGULAMASI
Giriş: Karpal tünel sendromu (KTS), median sinirin el bileğinde karpal tünelden geçerken kompresyona uğramasından kaynaklanan ve kadınlarda daha sık görülen bir tuzak nöropatidir. Akupunktur KTS’de kullanılan bir tedavi yöntemidir. Çalışmamızın amacı KTS’de akupunkturun ağrı ve fonksiyonellik üzerine etkisini değerlendirmektir. Materyal-Metod: Yaş ortalamaları 48,76±7,15 yıl olan 17 hastanın 20 ekstremitesine 2 ay toplam 10 seans akupunktur tedavisi uygulandı. Ağrıyı değerlendirmek için VAS (Vizüel Analog Skala), semptom şiddetini ve fonksiyonelliği değerlendirmek için Boston karpal tünel sendromu anketi uygulandı. Bulgular: Tedavi öncesi ile karşılaştırıldığında tedavi sonrası Vizüel Analog Skala (VAS) ve Boston Karpal Tünel Sendromu anketinde anlamlı değişiklik gözlendi (P <0.005). Tedavi sırasında herhangi bir yan etkiye rastlanmadı. Sonuç: Akupunkturun KTS’de ağrı, semptom şiddeti ve fonksiyonellik üzerine etkili olduğunu düşünmekteyiz.
