Madencilikte tesis yeri seçimini ve yerleşmiş tesislere ek olarak yerleştirilecek yeni tesisler için yer seçimini etkileyen pek çok faktör vardır. Bunların en önemlilerinden biri de, maden yatağından tesise ya da bir tesisten diğerine yapılacak taşı­ manın maliyetidir. Bazı faktörlerin değerlendirilmesi sonucu çok sayıda yer, tesis yerleşimi için alternatif yer özelliğini kazanabilir. Bu alternatif yerlerin değerlendirilmesi ise, taşıma maliyeti optimizasyonu ile yapılabilir. Bu çalışmada, taşıma maliyeti optimizasyonu için bir matematiksel model geliştirilmiş, modelin bilgisayar programı yapılmıştır. Model, kuyu yeri seçiminde alternatif noktaların değerlendirilmesi için uygulanmıştır.

In mining industry, there are a number of factors which affect the selection of sites for new plants and/or for additional plants to the established ones. The most important factor is the cost of transportation from one plant to another. From the assessment of some factors, many sites may be found to be appropriate for establishing plant. The evaluation of the alternative sites depend on the optimization of transportation cost. in this study, for the optimization of transportation cost, a mathematical model was developed and a computer programme of the model was prepared. The model was used for assessment of alternative places in selection of shaft of shaft site.
