Bilinç Kanıtı

Bilincin ne olduğu meselesi hala gizemini korumaktadır. Onun gizemi, bilinçli ve öznel deneyimlerimizin -onları deneyimlediğimiz haliyle- nasıl olup da maddi şeyler olabileceğini veya maddi şeyler tarafından üretilebileceğini anlamaktaki zorluktan kaynaklanır. Bu gizemden arınabilmek adına kimileri, bilincin deneyime konu olan bu fenomenal niteliklerinin gerçek olmadıklarını veya en azından bize göründüğü gibi olmadıklarını iddia ederken, diğer bazıları ise bunların var olması gerektiğinde ısrar eder. Fakat bu deneyimlerin gerçekten var olduğu kabul edildiğinde, baştaki soruya dönerek, bunların maddeden nasıl çıktığını ve maddeyle ilişkisinin ne olduğunu anlamakta zorlanırız. Bilincin ortaya çıkışını ve maddeyle ilişkisini anlamakta zorlanmamızın nedeni, maddi evrenin, tümüyle maddi süreçler sonucunda bilinç gibi bir fenomeni ortaya çıkardığını varsaymamızdır. Oysa bilinçli bir varlık olan Tanrı’nın yarattığı bir evrende, bilincin ortaya çıkması daha olasıdır. Bu çalışmada, bilinç kanıtının bazı versiyonlarını tanıtacağım ve bu kanıta ilişkin bazı endişeleri inceleyeceğim.

The Argument from Consciousness

The question of what consciousness still remains a mystery. Its mystery stems from the difficulty in understanding how our conscious and subjective experiences -as we experience them- can be material or be produced bymaterial things. In order to be cleansed of this mystery, some claim that thesephenomenal qualities of consciousness that are the subject of experience arenot real, or at least not as they seem to us, while others insist that they must exist. But when we are told that these experiences actually exist, we find it difficult to return to the original question and understand how they came out ofmatter and what their relation is to matter. At this point, the defenders of the evidence of consciousness argue that the difficulty in understanding the emergence of consciousness stems from naturalistic assumptions. The reason whywe find it difficult to understand the emergence of consciousness and its relation to matter is that we assume that the universe has gone through just material processes and brought about a phenomenon such as consciousness. However, in a universe created by God, a conscious being, consciousness is more likelyto arise. In this paper, I will introduce some versions of the argument fromconsciousness and examine some of the concerns regarding these arguments.
