Alman Arkeoloji Enstitüsü'nün 150. kuruluş yılı Berlin'de dünyanın çeşitli ülkelerinden gelen 1000'e yakın davetlinin katılmasıyla düzenlenen törenlerle kutlandı. Federal Almanya Cumhurbaşkanı Walter Sheel ile Batı Berlin Eyalet Başkanı Dietrich Stobbe'nin açılışını yaptığı kuruluş yıldönümü toplantısında Ankara Üniversitesi Dil ve Tarih - Coğrafya Fakültesi Arkeoloji Profesörü ve Kurumumuz asıl üyesi Ekrem Akurgal'a, Enstitü'nün merkez şeref üyeliği belgesi verildi. Berlin'in ünlü Kongre salonunda yapılan görkemli törende Profesör Akurgal'ın şeref üyeliği belgesi Alman Cumhurbaşkanının huzurunda Enstitü Başkanı tarafından verildi. Bu nedenle Kongre salonuna şeref üyeliğini alan 5 bilim adamının ülkelerinin bayrağı arasında Türk bayrağı da çekildi.

Nimet Özgüç, The Anatolian Group of Cylinder Seal Impressions from Kültepe, Ankara, 1965 (hereafter AnatGr). Although few specific references will be made to this book, its content, observations and conclusions will be implicit throughout this paper.
