MINI ARBORETUM OF “100.YIL ATATÜRK HİZMET KÖYÜ”

This study comprises a mini arboretum project for two parcels in “100. Yıl Atatürk Hizmet Köyü”. The aim ofthe project is to introduce local plants to residents of region and tourists, and also increase the public awarenessfor nature. For this aim, literature was reviewed and site analyses were done to produce alternative designs bytaking care of Zonguldak governorship demands. One of them was chosen after making discussion withgovernorship. By developing the design, a design concept and application projects were maintained. The projectwas started to apply in April 2006. At the first stage of application, 179 plants have been planted and other stagesof application have still been going on.
