The Seed Micromorphologies of Some Draba L. (Brassicaceae) Species From Turkey
The seed macro- and micromorphologies of four taxa (Draba bruniifolia Steven subsp. bruniifolia, Draba heterocoma Fenzl, Draba haradjianii Rech. f. and Draba nemorosa L.) belonging to Draba were investigated with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) in order to determine the significance of seed features as taxonomic characters. This study presents macro- and micromorphological characters, including seed colour, shape, winged, measures, seed coat pattern. Two coat ornamentations (regularly-reticulate and irregularly-reticulate) were observed and four shapes (ovate, narrowly ovate, elliptic and broadly elliptic) were distinguished. The results showed that the morphological characteristics of seed could be contribute as criteria to distinguish taxa.
