Free Electron Laser Optimisation with Genesis 1.3

Free Electron Laser Optimisation with Genesis 1.3

5 - 100 nm wavelength laser beam design study has been done from 1 GeV electron beam energy. By using Superconducting 1½ - cell gun cavity has been considered to give first push to electrons after the extraction of the electrons from photocathode. Furthermore, 8 ? 9 - cell superconducting cavities are considered in the simulations for main acceleration part in order to accelerate electrons to get close to speed of light. When the desired beam is obtained energetically, beam are sent to undulator section, where the electron beam is radiated. By using Genesis 1.3 Code whole beam behaviour are simulated inside the undulator section. In this study, output power, intensity of radiation, ponderomotive force, phases of radiation are traced and obtained throughout the undulator. Optimized beam and laser parameters are presented.
