1930’lu yılların sonlarına doğru Kıbrıs Türk toplumu pek çok sıkıntı ve problemlerle adeta adada var olabilmenin mücadelesi içindedir. Türkiye’nin Kıbrıs Konsolosu tarafından 1938 yılında hazırlanan bir raporda Kıbrıs Türklerinin yaşadığı sıkıntılar ve çözüm yolları ayrıntılı bir şekilde dile getirilmektedir. Bu raporda; İngiliz yönetiminin ve Rumların Kıbrıs Türklerinin milli kimliklerine yönelik baskıları, Türklerin ekonomik durumları ve Adadan göçe zorlayan uygulamalar ve bu problemler karşısında neler yapılabileceği ifade edilmektedir. Bu bakımdan Kıbrıs Meselesini ve Kıbrıs Türklerinin yaşadıkları sıkıntıları anlama bakımından sözkonusu rapor önem arzetmektedir.

In the late 1930’s the Cyprus Turkish society was struggling to remain alive on the island with myriad of distress and problems. The distress the Cypriot Turks suffered and their solutions were reported in great detail in a report prepared by the Cyprus Consulate of Turkiye in 1938. Both the opressions of English management and Cypriot Greeks on the national identity of Cypriot Turks, the economical situation of the Cypriot Turks, and the enforcements on them to leave the island and what could be done to solve those problems were stated in that report. In this regard, the report mentioned above is significant with respect to understanding the oppressions suffered by the Cypriot Turks.
