Kas-İskelet Sistemi Lezyonlarında Yeni Bir Tedavi: Plateletten Zengin Plazma

Plateletten Zengin Plazma (platelet rich plasma -PRP); son yıllarda oldukça popüler olan bir tedavi şeklidir. Otolog olarak alınan kanın santrifüj edilmesiyle elde edilir. Kullanım alanı daha çok tendon lezyonları olmakla beraber daha başka birçok yerde de kullanılmaktadır. Tendonlar yapıları itibariyle kanlanmaları göreceli olarak az ve buna bağlı olarak iyileşmeleri zordur. Kronikleşmeye meyillidirler. Kullanılan başka birçok tedavi yöntemi olmakla beraber sonuçlar her zaman yüz güldürücü olmamaktadır. PRP daha çok bu açığı kapatmak için kullanılmaktadır. Bilinen bir yan etkisi yoktur. Etkinliği oldukça tartışmalıdır, çünkü yapılan bazı çalışmalarda oldukça etkin bulunmakla beraber hiçbir etkisinin olmadığını belirten yayınlar da vardır. Bu yazıda PRP' nin etkinliğii ve kullanılabilirliği ele alınıp değerlendirilmiştir.

A New Treatment of Musculoskeletal System Lesions: Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a treatment modality that is very popular in recent years. It is obtained by centrifuging autologous blood. Although it has been used for tendon lesions, it could also used for many other lesions. Vascularization of tendons is relatively insufficient and therefore the treatment is difficult. They tend to be chronic. Although there are other treatments methods, the results are not always satisfactory. There are no known side effects of PRP. However, the effectiveness is highly controversial. Some studies indicated that PRP is very effective, but some say that PRP is ineffective. In this review we try to analyze the effectiveness and usability of PRP.
